Eye in the Sky![]() ![]() Directed by: Yau Nai-Hoi Gun chung Hong Kong, 2007 Dir.: Yau Nai-Hoi ![]() Trailer In this gripping and realistic cop thriller, a beautiful young policewoman (Kate Tsui) joins the secret unit of the Hong Kong police dedicated to undercover surveillance. Newly christened "Piggy," she must work to track and capture a meticulous and professional team of jewelry store robbers. The inexperienced rookie is aided by her new boss (Simon Yam), a pudgy goofball well-suited to the long nights and monotonous days involved in searching a city of millions for a single suspect. Piggy's nerves and skills are pushed to the limit as her unit's net closes in on the criminals, and violence begins to erupt around her. After the crafty and vicious leader of the robbers (Tony Leung Ka Fai) kills a policeman, Piggy is forced to question whether she can really make it in the world of police surveillance, where success means keeping your cool even as lives are taken before you, and the faces, mannerisms, and clothes of everyone around you have to be remembered and analyzed in the blink of an eye. First-time director Yau Nai-Hoi does a wonderful job with his own taut script. Johnnie To produces, bringing a luster and professionalism to the film that is typical of his best work. (Sat Freedman)
