Sundance opening film concludes the 15th Titanic International Film Festival

Four international filmmakers will attend the Closing Gala of Titanic Film Festival on April 13th, to personally await the announcement of this year’s Breaking Waves Award and the requisite 10,000-Euro prize.

Russian filmmaker Aslan Galazov will cheer for his drama The Swallows Have Arrived, Mexican Francisco Franco-Alba will support his erotic Burn the Bridges, Tomas Alfredson from Sweden is wishing his crime story Let the Right One In the best of luck, while American director Jeff Nichols has high hopes for his “brothers’ drama” Shotgun Stories.

Following the award ceremony, this year’s Sundance opening film, Martin McDonagh’s excellent crime-comedy In Bruges will conclude the festival. The film features Colin Farrell, Ralph Fiennes and Brendan Gleeson, in the role of three professional assassins. The film may only ring familiar bells to Grainne Humphreys, director of the Dublin Film Festival and the Irish member of the Titanic jury, as In Bruges was only shown in Dublin among the film festivals in Europe.
