The Titanic International Film Festival has been a competition festival for the 6th time now. Although due to the well known financial problems this year the organisers cannot offer the winner the usual 10 000 euros, the Breaking the Waves Prize remains the award for the seven excellent films in competition. The best one is to be selected by the 3-member international jury.



Zsűri/Elliot GroveELLIOT GROVE

Canadian-born film producer who founded Raindance Film Festival in 1993, the British Independent Film Award in 1998, and Raindance.tv in 2007. Grove produced over 150 short films and 5 feature films. He has lectured in the UK, the US, Canada, Japan and various places in Europe. His famous Lo-to-No Budget Filmmaking courses were attended by filmmakers later to become immensely successful like Christopher Nolan and Guy Ritchie. He is the author of three books on filmmaking: Raindance Writer’s Lab; Raindance Producer’s Lab and 130 Projects to Get You Into Filmmaking. His first novel is going to be published in 2011.

Zsűri/Esther RotsESTHER ROTS

Born in 1972 in Groenlo, the Netherlands. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Arnhem and studied at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy in Amsterdam. She has won a range of awards for her short films, two of which were shown in the official short film selection of the Cannes Film Festival (Play with Me, 2002; I Sprout, 2003). Her acclaimed debut feature film Can Go Through Skin premiered in 2009 Berlinale in the Forum section, and won the Breaking Waves Award at the 2010 Titanic International Filmfest.

Zsűri/Pataki ÁgiÁGI PATAKI

In the seventies, she was the most famous model in Hungary. As a producer in the film production company Filmpartners (established in 1993) she was involved in the making of such well received Hungarian films as the Glass Tiger Trilogy, White Palms, Overnight, Delta, Bibliotheque Pascal and Tender Son - The Frankenstein Project. From December 2010 she has been president of the Budapest Art Cinema Association. For her work as a producer she received the Bela Balazs Award in 2011.
