Péter Gothár’s classic, a landmark in Hungarian cinema, is going to be
30 years old next year. The director is the member of this year’s
Titanic Film Festival jury. Tonight
Time Stands Still screens as an
homage at 20.30 in
Örökmozgó.
You can also see Sara Jonsen's Upperdog at the Q&A at 17.45 in Uránia . It is one of the most exquisite movies of the Norwegian contemporary cinema: a dynamic tragicomedy about relationships. Its heroes are two half brothers, Axel and Yanne, whose self quest, vulnerability and immature self-importance are at once touchingly beautiful and charmingly comic.
The beautiful Reymond Amselem also appears as Titanic’s guest representing the Israeli-Hungarian-French co-production, Seven Minutes in Heaven she stars in as the main character. Reymond plays the survivor of a Palestine terror attack in Jerusalem who has lost her love in the blast. As a result of the trauma, her memories get erased and she tries to evoke them, while a mysterious participant of the horrible event enters her life. The actress was nominated to several awards for the film which was attributed the Grand Prize at the Warsaw International Film Festival.
After the screening of Israeli drama, Surrogate at 18.45, you can meet the director Tali Shalom Ezer in Toldi Cinema. The film focuses on a bizarre relationship based on a sexual therapy. Before you can view Yaelle Kayam’s short movie called Diploma.

Another Hungarian related film, Memory of Love also premieres today. This movie is based on the theme of losing memory too but rather on the long term amnesia. He Sizhu suffers a car accident with her lover and the loss of her memories. Her husband decides to keep her in ignorance concerning the unhappiness of their marriage and the woman’s infidelity. The movie, which is set in a perfect melodramatic situation and a love triangle, is a feature in The year of the Tiger, Titanic’s Chinese film section.
Memory of Love starts at 16.30 in KINO, and Seven Minutes in Heaven screens at 21.00 in Toldi.
