Jonathan Demme

Born in 1944 in Baldwin, New York, and graduated from the University of Florida. He broke into feature film working for exploitation film producer Roger Corman from 1971 to 1976. He won a Best Director Academy Award with The Silence of the Lambs. Along with his high profile feature films, he has made a number of documentaries over the years.
