CREATIVE EMMY GOES TO HUNGARIAN COSTUME MAKER

Hungarian costume maker Gabor Homonnay was given the Creative Arts Emmy Award for his creations used in the television series The Borgias.

Creative Emmys are given a week before the "real" Emmys in recognition for technical or other contributions to television productions. This year, Hungary's special effects technician Gabor Kiszelly, hair dresser Judit Halasz and art director Judit Varga were also among nominees for the award.

After he received the prize, Homonnay said that he saw it as a recognition for the work of the whole Hungarian team working on the series. He said that shooting The Borgias in the Korda Film Studios at Etyek, outside Budapest, involved up to 70 people working with the outfits.
