20th Titanic International Filmfestival

ILL MANORS-DISCUSSION ABOUT HUNGARIAN SLAM POETRY

Plan B’s first film, iLL Manors, which has received much attention in Great Britain, will be released on 18th of April in Hungarian cinemas. However on the 12th of April, Friday 9 p.m. Titanic Festival will screen the film in Toldi Cinema before its premiere, as a part of the festival’s Music For All section. After the screening a discussion will take place with the participation of Hungarian rapper Lil’ Tyson and poet Péter Závada.

The soul and rap artist, Plan B’s second album, The Defamation of Strickland Banks (2010) had been a huge success in Hungary too, with hits like Love Goes Down, Prayin’ and She Said. During the battle for the first place of British charts, the star also tried himself in the world of Cinema. His biggest shot is iLL Manors, which is a very personal piece of art. Beside directing, he wrote the script and composed the music himself. The album, which was made for the film, has an important role in the story.

In iLL Manors many lives tangle together in only a week’s time. People fight for survival on the cruel streets of London, in a world where aggression is natural. Plan B’ first full-length film shows the viewers the streets and the lost generation of London in a fresh and straightforward way. According to the director some stories in the film were inspired by real life events and the works of Quentin Tarantino and Nicolas Winding Refn (Pusher-trilogy, Drive).

(Where it breaks) With Eszter Angyalosy, the editor of Libri publishing office they will talk about the dangerous districts of Budapest and slam-poetry.

The national premiere of iLL Manors is on the 18th of April, distributed by Mozinet Kft.
